ANCHORAGE, AK – 20-year old Alaska indie folk/pop artist Ava Earl’s career has been on an upward trajectory: she opened for Maggie Rogers while still in high school, released 4 albums by the time she was 18 and The Roses (2021), produced by GRAMMY-nominated JT Nero, had several songs were featured on Spotify editorial playlists, with “Mountain Song” amassing more than 100,000 streams.

That almost came to a halt when she experienced a sudden and permanent single-sided deafness in her right ear. A shocking diagnosis, it not only affected her physical, but mental well-being as well. Her second single “Ears Bleeds” brings closure to a journey that saw her through a rollercoaster of emotions ranging from anger to intangible grief.

“After going deaf in my right ear, I was left with emotions that took months to unravel, sort, and explain,” says Ava. “Six months in, I thought I had come to a semblance of peace when this song tumbled out of me, surprising me with a pain that was still so palpable.”

This is the second single from her forthcoming album, Too Much, produced by JUNO-winner Zachariah Hickman and recorded at Great North Sound Society in Maine. The album champions a new sound––one that breaks away from previous recordings while staying close to Earl’s unique writing style. Thematically, the album takes us through Earl’s journey of early adulthood, including the concept of being “too much.”

Too Much will be available on September 15th, 2023 (PRESAVE).
