Ava Earl's Releases New Single "Mountain Song" - Featured on Spotify's Fresh Folk Playlist

Congratulations to Ava Earl on the release of her second single “Mountain Song” off her upcoming album The Roses (out July 23.) Produced by JT Nero (Birds of Chicago) and features background vocals by Allison Russell and Awna Teixeira.

We we thrilled to also say Spotify placed her on their Fresh Folk playlist.

IN AVA’S WORDS:

““Mountain song” is actually not a metaphor, as I think a lot of people assume. While it would be an ample interpretation, this song is actually about a real life experience that I had when I was a bit too confident in my mountain climbing skills. I usually pride myself in my spontaneity, but this experience reminds me that caution is a necessary consideration. A friend and I ended up climbing up what we later learned was a rock climbing route on a very steep Alaska mountain. We managed to make it down safely, but it took many hours and it was not without its tragedy. This song is also about understanding my lack of control in the universe. I am at peace with the fact that I can only control my actions and nothing more, but I sometimes forget that the consequences of my actions are not under my domain.”

Red Line Roots Premieres Ava Earl's New Single "Springtime"

A song called “Springtime” couldn’t come at a more opportune time. As the maples have budded out and are spreading their leaves, rustling in the ever warming breeze. Birds are back singing their songs, and here we are graced with a beautiful song from singer-songwriter Ava Earl. Ava’s voice lilting up and drifting down, like those aforementioned warm breezes, filling the gaps in the air with a soft but rich sound.“The book was a sweet love story with a badass feminist female character named Cimorene,” she said. “[It was] right up my alley.”

To me, “Springtime” is a song that gives us some allowances for not always being the best versions of ourselves. - Ava Earl

Underground Music Collective Premieres Ava Earl's New Single "Cimorene"

That single is “Cimorene,” a gorgeous and gracefully finger-picked folk song which aims to take the listener to an “enchanted space during a time of collective isolation, nostalgia, and longing.” “Cimorene” borrows its title from a character in The Enchanted Forest Chronicles with whom the young folk songwriter found kinship.

“The book was a sweet love story with a badass feminist female character named Cimorene,” she said. “[It was] right up my alley.”

Ava Earl Isn't Your Isn't Your 'Forever Girl' Exclusive Premiere on The Boot

Eighteen-year-old Ava Earl is ready to break free from a toxic relationship in her new song "Forever Girl." The song's protagonist is dreaming of leaving an abusive partner -- and, fortunately, by lyrics' end, she's seized the opportunity to run.

"I draw inspiration from being around people. Since I don't have that right now -- none of us do -- I've been making up scenarios," Earl explains of the song's origins. The story she dreamed up for "Forever Girl" is far from a picture-perfect one, though: At first, things seem okay, but listeners will quickly get the idea that this relationship isn't healthy.
