Dinty Child's Debut Solo Album 'Lucky Ones' Out Now!

Dinty Child — Lucky Ones.png

A HUGE congratulations to Dinty Child on the release of his first solo record, Lucky Ones, today! If you're unfamiliar with the name, I can promise you know his music.

Dinty is a Boston area roots/folk legend — a band member with Laurie Sargent, Asa Brebner, Dennis Brennan, and Jenifer Jackson since the '80s; a forty-year frontman for the twenty-piece SE Mass party/mayhem band The Funky White Honkies; a multi-instrumental sideman to many folkies (Peter Mulvey, Kris Delmhorst, Rose Cousins, Ana Egge, Anais Mitchell…to name just a few); a twenty-year player with Chandler Travis Philharmonic; and has about forty shows opening for George Carlin under his belt. He's a founding member of Session Americana, and a co-founder of Miles of Music Camp, an international influence for the folk world.

Dinty has influenced every part of the folk music world in one way or another, and it's his time to shine. Congratulations, Dinty!

Make sure to listen where you stream and send Dinty so much love today!

Dinty Child announces Kickstarter campaign to help fund debut solo album

Dinty Child just announced a Kickstarter campaign with a goal of $9,000 to help fund the finishing touches of his debut solo album — including an all-star tour.

Where are most of the funds allocated? Bringing in the band who recorded on the album — dozens of musical friends from Rose Cousins, Isa Burke (of Lula Wiles), to singer/songwriter Josh Ritter and all of Dinty’s bandmates from Session Americana.

Dinty says, “Rose will be flying in from Nova Scotia, Isa from Toronto, and Lauren [Balthrop] from Nashville, and since its unlikely I’ll ever get this lineup together again, I’m hoping to do a video shoot of the Oberon show for posterity. Those plane tickets, musician’s pay, plus feeding and watering will cost a lot of money...far more than I can expect to take in at the door. That’s where you come in.”

To donate, click the button below. Good luck, Dinty!
